The Greatest Commandment Workshop

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength… and love your neighbor as yourself.” — Mark 12:30–31

Many of us have learned how to care for others while remaining disconnected from compassion toward ourselves. We may intellectually understand God’s love, yet struggle to truly receive it in the places marked by shame, striving, fear, exhaustion, or self-rejection. When our relationship with self is rooted in criticism, survival, or performance, it becomes difficult to experience the fullness of connection God intended; with Him, ourselves, and others.

This experiential workshop invites participants into a deeper exploration of the Greatest Commandment through the lens of embodied healing, attachment, and self-compassion. Together, we will gently uncover the barriers that keep us from receiving love and practice what it means to relate to ourselves with the kindness, dignity, and grace God designed for His children.

Through guided experiential exercises, reflection, nervous system awareness, group process, and Christ-centered therapeutic practices, participants will explore:

-The connection between loving self and loving others well

-How shame, fear, and past wounds distort our ability to receive love

-What Scripture reveals about God’s heart toward us

-The difference between self-love and self-centeredness

-How embodiment, compassion, and secure attachment support healing

-Practical ways to cultivate gentleness, acceptance, and emotional integration

This workshop is not about self-improvement or striving harder to love well. It is about learning to receive; to allow the love of God to move beyond concept and become an internalized reality that transforms the way we see ourselves and engage with others.

As we learn to receive love as God intended, we become more capable of offering love with authenticity, freedom, and presence.
